Why are you writing?

One question an author will always ask themselves sooner or later is ‘Why am I writing? Your answers might range from solely for your own enjoyment, through to the insane fame and riches of super-stars like J.K. Rowling (future career hint: most of her fortune comes from the movies rather than the books).

In the latest podcast from the SPF team, the lads ask these existential questions of publishing coach Elizabeth Lyons. I don’t have a publishing coach. I don’t even have a coach in the gym where my tum could really do with it. Maybe that’s what I’ve been doing wrong all these years?

I’ll have to ask George RR Martin at the HarperCollins authors’ Christmas Party if he has a publishing coach!

In the meantime, here’s the German translation of my first book from H/C. I love the cover art. Very steampunk.
